Simpsons Smell-o-vision put on hold

Plans for a smell-o-vision version of the Simpsons movie have been cancelled due to “production issues.” ScentAndrea announced earlier this year that they’d be pairing their scent machines with the December-release DVD for trial in New Zealand. According to Auckland company Apollo Marketing, there will be scent market testing in 2008 with other movies.

    Adding scent to the auditory and visual dimensions of a movie, theatric production, symphony or opera has always been has always been a compelling idea. Does anyone know how this is done. How is scent introduced and then removed from the audience perception

    Years ago there was a start-up company that provided a scent creation device that would work in connection with video games. I think the company did not sycceed., Does anyone know?
