Korean technology experts project the internet will carry scent by 2015, says Korea’s Ministry of Information and Communication. According to the ministry, scent will be digitized into binary code, which can travel over a broadband connection. Users will have cartridges in their computers that interpret the code and emit the particular aroma. Korean companies claim to have been working on this technology since 2000. Visions like this are part of Korea’s plan to pioneer technological development worldwide. Other predictions include micro robots in human blood cells, cell phones with 2-month battery lives, eyeglass video cameras, and digital military uniforms that enhance soldiers’ physical power.
